The producer
Who are they?
Settled in Hemmingford after leaving their native Brittany in the late 1970s, Robert and Joëlle Demoy founded Cidrerie du Minot with the idea of taking Quebec cider further. A trained oenologist from the University of Bordeaux, Robert brought a winemaking approach to working with apples. In 1988 the house produced its first cuvée of Crémant de Pomme, which became its flagship. Today their children Audrenne and Alan Demoy carry on the family operation. The cidery explores many expressions of the apple, from sparkling ciders to still and ice ciders.
Their approach
What sets them apart.
The apple comes first
A range built around different expressions of the apple, from fresh, light ciders to more concentrated ice ciders.
Natural effervescence
The house’s sparkling ciders are made by natural secondary fermentation using the Charmat method.
A family story
Founded by Robert and Joëlle Demoy, the cidery today continues its work with the second generation, Audrenne and Alan.
Le Premier Verre
Why we follow them.
Because Du Minot shows how far Quebec cider can go. A historic operation, but above all a fairly wide range that lets you discover the apple in very different expressions.
