The producer

Who are they?

Gérard Bertrand experienced his first harvest in 1975 at Château de Villemajou in the Corbières, then worked for twelve years alongside his father Georges. He took over the family estate in 1987 and founded the Gérard Bertrand wine company five years later. The acquisition of Château l'Hospitalet in 2002 marked a new stage of development and the beginning of the group's biodynamic journey. Today the company brings together numerous southern French estates with biodiversity and biodynamics at the centre of its winegrowing project.

The company works with several emblematic estates and appellations across Languedoc and southern France.

03

Biodiversity

The project places strong emphasis on living soils, biodiversity and a sustainable vision of viticulture.

Why we follow them.

Because Gérard Bertrand offers several ways into Languedoc, from approachable varietal wines to terroir-driven cuvées. The Naturae range is also a useful starting point for discussing organic wines and wines made without added sulphites.
