Who are they?
Schieferkopf is a project launched by Michel Chapoutier focused on Riesling and terroirs in Alsace and Germany. The aim is to highlight the connection between the grape variety, the soil and the origin rather than chase a single, uniform style. The various cuvées let you see how Riesling changes with its place of growth. For Le Premier Verre, Schieferkopf is especially interesting because it provides a very concrete way to discover dry Riesling and to understand that the same grape can express itself differently depending on its terroir.
