Who are they?
Based in Bernkastel-Kues, in the heart of the Mosel, Weingut Dr. Loosen is run by Ernst Loosen and is one of the international references for German Riesling. The estate works several of the region's most renowned slopes, including Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Ürziger Würzgarten, Erdener Treppchen and Erdener Prälat. On these steep, slate-soiled slopes, the harvest is largely done by hand. The estate seeks to express each parcel with precision, in styles ranging from delicate, fruity Rieslings to great dry wines, deep and capable of ageing.
