Italy
Trentino-Alto Adige
At Italy's far north, Trentino–Alto Adige combines alpine vineyards, sunny valleys and large differences in altitude. In Alto Adige, the meeting of Alpine and Mediterranean influences favors precise, fresh whites, and Pinot Blanc is one of the key grape varieties.
The territory
Where are we?
Northeastern Italy, on the border with Austria; Alto Adige is centred notably around Bolzano and its alpine valleys.
In the vineyard
The climate.
A transitional climate between the Alps and the Mediterranean. The Alps shelter part of the vineyard from cold air masses from the north, while warmer influences rise from the south. Altitude, which can reach about 1 000 m in the vineyards of Alto Adige, promotes thermal variation and marked freshness.

What to know.
The mountain changes everything
Vines range from valley floors up to very high slopes: exposure, altitude and cool nights create a mosaic of styles.
Alpine + Mediterranean
Alpine influences from the north meet milder ones from the south here, often producing wines that are both ripe and very fresh.
Spectacular geology
Alto Adige features more than 150 different rock formations: volcanic porphyry, metamorphic rocks, limestone, dolomite and alluvial deposits sit side by side.
